Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Nathan has spent 14 years working as an actor, director, teacher and administrator. After a brief stint studying to be a molecular biologist at the University of Chicago, he eventually committed to his true passion and received a BA in Theatre Studies from The University at Buffalo followed by a Masters in Classical Acting from the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England.
Over the next several years Nathan cut his teeth performing with some of the top theaters in the country including Shakespeare Theatre Company, the Folger, WHAT, Lincoln Center, Red Bull and more.
In the Fall of 2015 he became part of the Red Bull Theater family, operating variously as an actor, director and teacher for them. He is currently their Associate Artistic Director.
Throughout these years, he refined his preferences and personal vision for crafting productions of classic and contemporary plays with an intense focus on creative, small cast, actor-oriented productions. He believes in an absolute loyalty to the text while thinking out of the box and using multiple mediums to best tell theatrical stories.
